£400K Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final Runs Nov. 23-26
The curtain comes down on another successful Grosvenor UK Poker Tour season this week with the £400,000 guaranteed 2017 GUKPT Grand Final at The Poker Room, formerly known as The Vic, in the heart of the British capital.
This has been the 10th consecutive season of the GUKPT and the tour continues to thrive. Each of the nine legs hit their guarantees (£100,000 for the £550 buy-in events and £200,000 for the £1,100 buy-in events) with some blowing the guarantees clean out of the water.
Michael Zhang was the main beneficiary of one of the guarantees being smashed when he took down the opening leg in London. Some 435 players bought in for £1,100 and created a £435,000 prize pool that was more than twice the guaranteed amount. Zhang scooped £113,000 for his victory, the largest score on the tour this year.
Some of the other big winners on the 2017 GUKPT include Andy Hills who won £46,988 in Manchester, John Eames who secured a £68,350 payday by triumphing in Luton, and Daniel Corbett who turned £1,100 into £87,280 by becoming the Blackpool champion.

In 2015, the GUKPT Grand Final Main Event saw 321 players outlasted by Ben Winsor. The £178,600 that Winsor won for his victory is still the biggest score in the history of the GUKPT Grand Final. Last year, Marc Wright topped a field of 276 to win a cool £132,380.
