The PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Begins Sept. 30
The World Poker Tour returns to the majestic Casino de Marrakech for the PMU.fr WPTDeepStacks Marrakech, which kicks off on Sept. 30 with a two-day €365 buy-in Opening Event. The eighth appearance of the tour at the Marrakech venue will run through Oct. 8.
The casino resides within the heart of the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort complex, which is well-known for its comfort and luxury. Founded in 1952, the complex features world-class hotels and villas, a beautiful park, pools, spas, restaurants, bars, a tennis court and a fitness center. Also, players are almost guaranteed great weather with Marrakech typically sunny almost every day of the year.
The WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Main Event
The highlight of the schedule takes place near the latter portion of the series with the three-day WPTDS MAD 13,200 (approximately €1,200/$1,400) Main Event kicking off on Oct. 6. Players begin the tournament with 30,000 in chips and blinds increase every 60 minutes. In addition to the deep structure, players have plenty of chances to bring forward a big stack to Day 2 with the tournament allowing unlimited re-entries until the late-registration period closes at the end of Level 8.
Players bagging chips will compete for two more days on Oct. 7-8 until a winner is crowned.
Over the years, the event has had different names and buy-ins. Last year the event with a similar structure to the one about to take place was dubbed the PMU.fr WPT National Marrakech Main Event. Morocco's Rachid Rami shipped the Main Event for MAD 950,000 ($97,586).

Side Events
The PMU.fr WPTDS Marrakech features many side events with buy-ins both high and low to suit just about any poker player. One of the biggest side events will be the two-day WPTDS 20,000 MAD (approximately €1,800/$2,100) High Roller on Oct. 4-5.
The casino is also hosting satellites feeding into this tournament, the Main Event and a handful of others, allowing players to get into these events for a significantly lower price.
