In 2013, Molly Bloom, also known as the "Poker Princess," pled guilty to charges of running an illegal high-stakes poker game for celebrities and Wall Street millionaires.

A year later, she released a tell-all on those infamous high-stakes games which told stories of big names such as Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bloom’s revealing book grabbed the attention of not only poker fans but storytellers and film makers in Hollywood. Now, three years after its release, Molly's Game now getting its own film adaptation. Starring Jessica Chastain, the movie tells the real-life story of an operator of a high-stakes underground poker game before being arrested in the middle of the night by FBI agents.

The trailer dropped on Tuesday showing a glimpse of the aftermath including a meeting with criminal defense lawyer – played by Idris Elba. It's worth noting that this film is Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut. Sorkin is best known for his writing on television series like The West Wing and The Newsroom, and films The Social Network and Moneyball.

"The casting of Jessica and Idris in the two lead roles is any film-maker’s dream come true," said Sorkin in a statement. And by the looks of the two-minute trailer, it does look pretty damn good.

Molly’s Game, initially set for release on Nov. 22, was pushed back to Dec. 25 but will get an early screening at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Bloom spoke to PokerNews in Sept. 2014. You can check out the full interview here.
