Guarantees Increased for WSOP Europe Main Event; €1 Million to First 0001

King's Casino announced on Monday that it has raised the guaranteed prize pool for the €10,350 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event taking place Nov. 4-10. The guarantee was bumped from €4,000,000 to €5,000,000, with the eventual winner now taking home at least €1,000,000.

"We are encouraged by the number of early bookings for the WSOPE, so much so that we have raised the total guarantee of the Main Event to €5,000,000 and now guarantee €1,000,000 to the winner," said King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik. "My advice is to book now and secure your spot."

The 2017 World Series of Poker Europe begins Thursday, Oct. 19 and features 11 bracelet events in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The first official gold bracelet event will begin on Oct. 19 with an €1,100 buy-in Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em event with three starting flights and a €500,000 prize pool guarantee. The series officially concludes on Friday, Nov. 10 when a winner is crowned in the Main Event.

Tsoukernik added that more than 90 players have committed to the WSOP Europe €111,111 High Roller that starts on Nov. 3. The event will be capped at 111 players and will include some of the biggest names in poker, including Phil Hellmuth, Fedor Holz, Patrik Antonius, Antonio Esfandiari, Gus Hansen, Liv Boeree and Tony G.

"The demand is strong and I have given up my own seat and will play host instead," Tsoukernik said about the High Roller event. "My €11,000 deposit will go to One Drop."

In preparation for a huge sequence of poker festivals, King's Casino recently added 1,800 square meters of Las Vegas-style casino space with 40 more poker tables, and will soon be opening the majority of an amazing new hotel with over 200 additional rooms on August 10 during the upcoming partypoker German Poker Championships from Aug. 3-15. The event, which features €2,000,000 in total guarantees, marks the start of a busy month at King’s which also sees the return of the PokerNews Cup and the inaugural PokerStars Sunday Million Live.

"Last year alone, we brought over 250,000 poker players to Rozvadov," said Tsoukernik. "Although this is already a great result for a town of 500, I believe we will be able to double that number as soon as our plans for expansion are completed and people will get the opportunity to come here for a proper poker holiday."
