Sunday Briefing: 'Kabotajoe' Triumphs in the Sunday Million

This week's PokerStars $215 Sunday Million saw a bumper field of 5,889 players turn out and create a $1,177,800 prize pool. The lion's share of this impressive sum was shared among the final four players who chopped up the remaining cash to lock up at least $83,132.

"Triantafill" finished in fourth place for $83,132, Brazil's Adrovan "AadrovanRj21" Rodrigues busted in third place for $95,605, and Romania's "GhostCapo" banked a cool $100,835. It was Germany's "Kabotajoe" who scooped the largest prize of the night, a princely $162,148.

Another major tournament ending in a chop was the $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE, which ended with the final three players striking a deal. "GiVeMeBaLLs" was the third-place finisher for $31,917, while "fred_volpe" netted $31,884 for his runner-up finish and "El Braulin" secured a $34,966 payout by becoming the tournament's champion.

  • Tanveer "T_Dot_D" Dhanjal - winner of the Hot $162 for $12,361
  • "TanTanSWE" - winner of the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $31,845 and $28,181 in bounty payments
  • "flowfivefour" - winner of the $109 Bounty Builder for $15,376 and $11,822 in bounty payments
  • "timo-boll" - winner of the $109 Bubble Rush for $6,907
  • "pkace666" - winner of the Hot $109 for $17,086
  • Sam "Str8$$$Homey" Greenwood - winner of the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO for $24,729
  • Pedro "gusmaa" Madeira - winner of the Big $215 for $20,376
  • Pascal "Paffchen" Hartmann - winner of the $109 Sunday Cooldown for $18,048
  • "Iforoni" - winner of the $215 Sunday Supersonic for $12,824
  • "DIFINI" - winner of the Hot $215 for $15,374
  • "ricey23" - winner of the $109 Sunday Wrap-Up for $7,987

Over at partypoker, "PeterLudolf" outlasted a field of 1,319 entrants in the $200K Gtd Title Fight to turn $215 into $44,766, but it was "Stikeeez" who walked away with the biggest cash haul on partypoker this Sunday thanks to winning $52,604 by taking down the $75K Gtd Super High Roller, a $2,600 buy-in tournament.

In the $150K Gtd Main Event, "ILuvYurPlay" turned $109 into $26,431 by topping a field of 1,564 entrants, while Jerry "frokennatur" Odeen won the $125K Gtd High Roller for $29,405, "mgentili" won the $75K Gtd High Roller for $21,599 and "HungarysHero" triumphed in the $100K Gtd Title Fight Warm Up for a $22,951 score.

Finally, the results from the biggest tournaments at 888poker.

"Ribamech15" turned $1,050 into $37,500 by defeating 108 players in the $120,000 Whale while Giovanni "gioriz" Rizzo won $8,832. In the $80,000 Mega Deep, "Jesusisback" walked away victorious and $16,460 richer than when he registered for the $215 buy-in tournament, and "Kafrou" won the $25,000 Sunday Crocodile for $7,055.

A shoutout has to go to Oliver "Thanilo" Johansson of Sweden who won the $15,000 Sunday Tornado for $3,979, to "kiskutya23" who won the $20,000 Sunday Lightning 6-Max for $5,462 and to Gary "garyt20" Thompson who banked $9,762 for his victory in the $50,000 Sunday Challenge.
