Global Poker continues to go from strength-to-strength in the United States thanks in part to it providing recreational and professional poker players with the chance to win virtual currency and real cash prizes via its sweepstake business model.

On May 31, Global Poker launched the Global Poker Online World Challenge (OWC), an eight-week festival with a huge schedule of events; 18 tournaments take place on weekdays and an additional 32 events run on a weekend.

The Global Poker team has set ambitious guarantees and that has been great news for players on the site because there has been approximately $16,000 worth of overlays so far. Perhaps the best-value tournament has been the OWC SC$7,500 Guaranteed Sunday Gold Challenge because players enjoyed an SC$2,500 overlay last weekend, or a third of the prize pool if you prefer.

This is not the only OWC event that has proven popular with Global Poker’s ever-growing pool of players. The daily rebuy tournaments have been a hit with the players, especially the $5.50 rebuy and the $22 2R1A events. Both of these daily tournaments have regularly awarded more than $5,000 to those players skillful enough to navigate their way to the top spots.

Away from the tournament tables, ring games are becoming busier at Global Poker, thanks in part to ‘The Weekly 500 Flops Challenge.’ This ongoing promotion required players to see 500 flops in ring games in order to win a share of $2,500 worth of added cash prizes. Last week, an impressive 424 players entered the Weekly 500 Flop Challenge and we expect that number to grow this and in the coming weeks.

Download Global Poker via PokerNews today and see what the fuss is about this latest, exciting online poker site. New customers receive two free $weeps and 10,000 Gold coins to get their Global Poker career started and you can then enter daily freerolls (with no entry requirements), take part in a busy schedule of multi-table tournaments, or even get stuck into the OWC and see if you can become a Global Poker champion.
