Winamax Releases SISMIX Schedule
The 2017 Winamax SISMIX is about to begin at the Casino de Marrakech, which is part of the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort, on May 13-21.
As the name of the festival suggests, all of the tournaments are no more than six players (six-max). The festival features 27 action-packed tournaments, highlighted by the 2017 Winamax SIXMIX Main Event on May 17-21.
Last year, Team Winamax pro Bruno Lopes shipped the Main Event for MA$850,000 (€78,341). Lopes is from France and is an avid poker player with over $1 million in winnings.
However, Lopes is perhaps even better recognized as "Kool Shen" as an icon of French rap music with more than 20 years of recording music and co-founding the group Le Supreme NTM.
This year's Main Event with a MAD$6,000 (€550) buy-in is expected to be just as exciting. The five-day tournament is a deep-stacked affair with players beginning with 50,000 chips and blinds increasing every 40 minutes during the three opening days on May 17-19. Players can reenter one time during each of the opening days and play as many opening days as it takes to advance to Day 2 on May 20.
Players bagging chips will play on Day 2 with blinds increasing every 50 minutes. Survivors moving on to the Final Day May 21 will have even more play with blinds increasing every 60 minutes.
The casino will also be hosting a handful of satellites to the Main Event starting at just MAD$500 (€45) for those looking to get into the tournament at a fraction of the cost. There are also tons of low buy-in events throughout the festival.
Another event that will attract some big names is the two-day Winamax SIXMIX High Roller May 16-17. Despite the High Roller title, the event is reasonably priced at MAD$15,000 (€1,375) and the casino is also hosting satellites starting at MAD$1,400 (€130).
There is also the one-day Winamax SISMIX Super High Roller on May 21 featuring a MAD$25,000 (€2,300). The day before, on May 20, the casino is hosting a rebuy satellite to the tournament with a MAD$2,000 (€185) buy-in.
In addition to the more than two dozen tournaments on the schedule, the casino will be hosting cash games 24 hours a day.
The Winamax SIXMIX festival is more than just poker, though, with plenty of activities for poker players and their guests. There are multiple pool parties every day featuring world-class DJs, plenty of beer pong and parties during the evenings.
