PokerStars Pros Randy Lew and Celina Lin Talk All Things SCOOP
The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is coming and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Well, actually, it’s already here, but the big events on the schedule get underway this weekend.
“There’s going to be a $55 million guaranteed prize pool for the whole SCOOP series and you can play it in your underwear at home so there’s nothing better than that,” Celina Lin said.
In an interview with Laura Cornelius, Randy Lew and Lin give all the insider info on this series and what to expect, including some newer items.
The first of these is the Player’s Choice event, which will be voted on by you — the players. Four different online pros – Jaime Staples, Lex Veldhuis and Mikhail 'innerspy' Shalamov – have selected a favorite game and tournament format to pick from. Voters can weigh in on the PokerStars Live Blog page.

Lew is looking forward to the tournament and has quite a busy schedule planned out. He said the nice thing about SCOOP for all players is the range of buy-ins.
“I’m pretty much going to play every single no-limit event,” he said. “The good thing about the SCOOP is the low, medium and high buy-in, so I’m probably going to play all the mediums and the highs, but if you want to play all the $5.50 version of the Bubble Rush, you can. You can play a $500 version or $55…I’m just going to play everything and try to final table something on Twitch.”
Another exciting tournament option is Bubble Rush, a new format that PokerStars introduced that is a turbo tournament format until the bubble bursts and then it returns to a standard slow structure.
“The Bubble rush is a new format that pokerstars has introduced and I’ve actually enjoyed a couple of those tournaments myself,” Lin said.
