The big story on Day 4 of the 2017 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) was the kickoff of the first high roller events of the festival. The highlight had to be SCOOP-15-H with a buy-in of $25,000 and a guarantee of $2,000,000.

After Day 1, Austria’s "bencb789" has the chip lead with 545,923, followed closely by Chris "Apotheosis92" Kruk (492,651) and Stephen "stevie444" Chidwick (248,846). Jason "jdtjpoker" Wheeler (133,630), Sergio "zcedrick" Aido (116,364) and Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress (105,094) are a few notables still in the mix.

Day 1 ended with 16 players remaining and with a total of 125 entries; 16 is also the number of prizes up for grabs. Scott "gunning4you" Seiver was the unfortunate bubble boy, falling in 17th place, guaranteeing a cash of at least $61,312 to the rest of the field headed to Day 2.

Other online stars failing to survive include PokerStars Team pros Jason Mercier, Igor Kurganov and Leo Fernandez; Ben "Ben86" Tollerene, Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo, Dan "mrGR33N13" Colman and Doug "WCG|Rider" Polk.

The medium high roller event featured a buy-in of $2,100 and carried a $1,000,000 guarantee. At the end of 25 levels, just 34 of the 772 entries remained. Day 1 of this event was also topped by an Austrian, "OverTheTop43," who bagged up 1,176,682. Joel "jbrown8777" Brown captured the second largest stack with 1,013,829. Dominic "Bounatirou" Nitsche (923,610), Mustapha "lasagnaaam" Kanit (809,845), on his fourth bullet, and Rhys "floppinhel" Jones (790,038) round out the top five.

Recent SCOOP record-setter, Calvin "cal42688" Anderson is still in the hunt for another title, as are Anton "antesvante" Wigg, Joao Paolo "ineedmassari" Simao, Ami "UhhMee" Barer and Ryan "i need sheet" Yu. There were 104 places paid so everyone left is already guaranteed $6,176.

A few to fall on Day 1 include Ike "philivey2694" Haxton (49th - $4,786), Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia (54th - $4,786), Niklas "Lena900" Astedt (55th - $4,786) and Phil "philbort" Gruissem (68th - $4,168).

SCOOP-15-L received an attendance of 4,507 entries with Norway’s "fityfmi" making the most of a second bullet, running it up into the chip lead. There are 51 players left in the field, currently guaranteed $2,028, a nice return for their $215 investment. A top prize of $141,972 awaits the champion.
