Sunday Briefing: Brazil's 'Drudz777' Wins the Sunday Million
A field of 5,219 players took to the PokerStars virtual felt on April 23 for the latest edition of the $215 Sunday Million, which meant the $1 million guarantee was surpassed by $25,800. The lion’s share of the prize pool, namely $261,840, went to the final two players in the tournament after they agreed to a deal when the tournament was in its final throes.
Finland’s “mahmuttt88” was the second-place finisher in the Sunday Million this weekend and netted himself $128,245 after the aforementioned deal. Second-place was originally set at $107,974 so the deal banked him almost $21,000 more than was on the payout sheet.
The eventual champion was “Drudz777” who hails from Brazil. Thanks to the deal, Drudz777 added $133,595 to his PokerStars account when the tournament ended at 09:46 CET on April 24.

The biggest prize at partypoker this Sunday went to “Kar98k” after taking down the $300,000 Gtd Title Fight tournament for a cool $50,790. Another large cash, one weighing in at $28,290, was awarded to “virophage” after winning the $150,000 Gtd Main Event in the early hours of Monday morning.
Sam “Sammy_squid” Grafton continued in his rich vein of form by securing the $34,549 first-place prize in the $150,000 Gtd High Roller, “hitaremchok” triumphed in the $100,000 Gtd High Roller for $26,665 and “RosszRaccoon” won the $26,418 top prize of the $100,000 Gtd Title Fight Warm-Up.
Also at partypoker, “onehundredeyes,” “Makemineadouble” and “Compagnacci” chopped the $100,000 Gtd Super High Roller for scores of $34,142, $33,830 and $33,301, respectively. In the $50,000 Gtd Turbo High Roller, “SiguiendoElFlow” came out on top and banked $13,406.
Over at 888poker, “bigblindbets” walked away with the $19,350 winner’s prize in the $100,000 Baby Whale and “888pruha” won the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $8,944. There were also victories for “Avskedad” in the $50,000 Sunday Crocodile and for Ewald “HUEHUAHUEHUA” Mahr Olivera in the $80,000 Sunday Challenge which were worth $11,139 and $15,580.
