partypoker Grand Prix Canada

Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec plays host to some of the biggest poker series in Canada and, with the upcoming partypoker $500,000 CAD Grand Prix Canada in late April, the action is only set to get hotter.

The innovative tournament series is a mix of online and live action, with a host of online satellites giving players a chance to grind a small buy-in into a $220 CAD Grand Prix Canada ticket. In addition to the satellites, however, the Grand Prix will run a week of online Day 1s alongside a week of live Day 1s in the tournament room at Playground.

Satellites start at $1.10 with a feeder tournament and run hourly throughout the day (starting at noon and running till 10 p.m.). The $1.10 feeds into a $5.50 (also hourly throughout the day on the same schedule as the $1.10) which feeds into a $22 satellite to the Grand Prix Main. The $22 satellites run daily at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and players can buy in at any level of the satellite structure. The $22 satellite tournament guarantees a payout of at least two $220 CAD tickets.

Players who are live at Playground can but into one of 11 daily live Day 1s, starting April 25. There will be two live Day 1s each day from Tuesday through Friday, kicking off at noon and 7 p.m., with two hours and 15 minutes late registration time. Saturday adds an extra Day 1 starting at 4 p.m., in addition to the ones scheduled for 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

In an innovative change, players can also bag virtual chips to take them into the live Day 2, scheduled for April 30. Online Day 1s, priced on partypoker at $165, run every Sunday at 8 p.m. through April 23. Starting April 24, daily Day 1s run on partypoker at 8 p.m. every night. Finishing any of the live or online Day 1s with chips sets you up for a spot in the live Day 2 on Sunday, and a shot at the final table on May 1.

As an added bonus, some players will have a shot at an extra $20,000 CAD. The first 100 players to qualify for the Grand Prix Day 2 through an online Day 1 will receive a Golden Chip added to their stack on Day 2. The player to survive longest with their Golden Chip will get a cool $20,000 CAD.

With satellites starting at $1.10, and online Day 1s running through the end of April, there’s a path to the final table for players with any bankroll. Fire up partypoker tonight and take your shot at this huge tournament.
