888poker has revealed the successor to its successful Super XL Series, a trio of online poker tournament festivals that are set to run over the next 12 months.

The first of this trio, the $7.5 million guaranteed XL Inferno Championships, kicks off May 7, followed by the XL Eclipse Championships in September. The finale will be the XL Blizzard Championships in early 2018.

The XL Inferno Championships boast of a massive schedule of 197 events, which makes the series the largest ever in terms of total events. It is also going to be the richest online series ever at 888poker with a staggering $7.5 million guaranteed, a 50 percent increase over any of 888poker’s previous Super XL Series.

The XL Inferno Championships starts with a $109 XL Inferno edition of the Sunday Lightning, which has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool. Later that day there's a $300,000 guaranteed event that only costs $160 to enter.

You can check out all 197 events here, but PokerNews has looked through the list of tournaments and handpicked some of our favorites.

Help Charities by Playing Poker

The eagle-eyed among you will no doubt have seen three of the tournaments in the table above have the words “Chip-In” in their description. That is because these special tournaments help the Raising for Effective Giving (REG) and Global Poverty Charity Portfolio.

All fees from these tournaments will be donated to the two charities by 888poker and are a superb way to contribute to worthy causes without the tournaments’ prize pool being affected.

Champion of Champions Event Returns

As with the January XL Series, the XL Inferno Championships includes a Champion of Champions event on the schedule. Entry to this special event is only open to those who won one of the 197 XL Inferno Championships tournaments.

The winner of the Champion of Champions event wins a 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event package. The runner-up will claim a Crazy 8s WSOP Side Event package and a $1,050 Main Event Qualifier ticket, and third place will receive a Crazy8s WSOP Side Event package.

Players finishing in fourth and fifth place will be awarded a $600 tournament ticket. Sixth through 40th place will get a $55 tournament ticket.
