Terry Schumacher Beats [Removed:17] to Win Aussie Millions Short Handed Event

If there's anything young players with a background in online poker like, it's shorthanded events. A massive 255 runners signed up for the $2,500 buy in event, making for a massive AUD$573,750 prize pool and a first-place prize of almost AUD$150,000.

With 255 players entering, 29 players would get paid. Among the players to cash were many notables; Ryan Van Sanford and French high roller Antoine Saout had to settle for a min cash of AUD$5,450. WSOP Main Event winner Martin Jacobson got AUD$5,735 for 22nd place, while players like Manig Loeser (15th) and Jackie Glazier (14th) both got AUD$7,170 for their deep run.

Australian online poker legend James Obst finished fourth.

Former Aussie Millions side event winner Mark Radoja and Daniel Neilson, who cashed in the Main Event, had to bow out shortly before the final table of six players was reached.

Some of the best players in the world gathered at the final table, with Yew Fatt Kan, James Obst and [Removed:17] gunning for first. Despite their best efforts, the title went to Terry Schumacher from Verviers, Belgium who beat Yan heads up to walk away with AUD$146,305. Australian online poker legend James Obst finished fourth.

Schumacher's previous biggest cash was $30,246 for his ninth place in the WPT Montreal last year. This is his first win of his poker career, earning his second Australian flag after having cashed in the opening event earlier this Aussie Millions poker festival.
