Sunday Briefing

This weekend 888poker ran a special edition of its Whale tournament, increasing its guarantee to a massive $500,000. By the time late registration closed, 1,188 entries were processed and a guarantee-busting $515,700 prize pool was created.

A total of 153 places were paid with a first-place prize in excess of $89,000, however, the final two players in the tournament chopped up the remaining prize pool, which lowered the actual payouts. “ZDamian” finished in second place and collected $74,090.25 with the champion being “Slaaasch,” an accolade that came with an impressive $79,382.07 score.

Staying at 888poker, Canada’s “LCfish” won the $120,000 Mega Deep, turning $215 into $24,900, while “drapsmann” and “fienw” chopped the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep and walked away with $9,057.85 and $8,383.55.
