Corentin Hillion Wins Aussie Millions Hi-Lo for AUD$23,800
There aren’t a whole lot of Omaha Hi-Lo tournaments to be played around the globe. Many tournament organizers skip the poker game in favor of more commonly played games like no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha hi. But at the Aussie Millions, the largest poker festival in the region, the game was offered and a lot of players seemed to appreciate it being part of the schedule.
A total of 86 entries into the $1,025 buy in game were registered, making for a prize pool of AUD$64,350. AUD$23,800 of that was allocated for the winner.
While the Australians were out in force for this event, the final table was a bit of an international affair. Besides France and Australia, players seated at the final table came from Austria, Germany, New Caledonia and the United States.
The first place prize would eventually go to Corentin Hillion from France. It’s the first recorded cash for the Frenchman, a nice feat to have a win as first result.
Hillion battled Adelaide's Nelson Maccini heads up. The man from South Australia had to eventually settle for second place, worth AUD$15,870.
