$750K Guarantee to Headline Wynn's Spring Classic Series
Wynn Las Vegas announced a $750,000 guarantee will headline its Wynn Spring Classic series.
The resort recently opened a new poker room with 28 tables and will almost double its size come February when it hosts the Spring Classic, adding 25 tables to its Encore Players Lounge.
The classic, which runs from Feb. 23 through March 12, features 11 events in addition to the $750,000 guaranteed championship event. This event will have three starting flights on March 2, 3 and 4. This 1,600 buy in event is scheduled during a break in the "California Swing" tournaments and is just after the Las Vegas Circuit event.
“Our goal was to add a marquee event to the list of ‘must plays’ for those traveling to Las Vegas or California," Ryan Beauregard, director of poker operations for Wynn. "We know that our structures, and the entire Wynn Classic experience, provide great value to tournament players. The $750,000 guarantee will definitely entice more players to put us on their calendar.”
In addition to this championship event, the schedule features daily events, like a PLO, Senior's Event and two multiday guarantee events.
“We found a good mix of price points this year and the scheduling really fell into place” said Aaron Jacques, the tournament director. “Having the additional space in the Players Lounge freed us up to create events that can handle large fields in multi-day flights. It’s a luxury to have 53 tables all in one area and this event will help us lay the groundwork for a huge Summer Classic.”
