Playground Poker Club Fall Classic: Pascal Monarque Bags Overall Chip Lead After Day 1c of The Wild $150
The 2016 Playground Poker Club Fall Classic is underway at the world-renowned Kahnawake, Quebec poker room. Running from Oct. 30 through Nov. 18, the annual festival at Playground Poker Club features 17 events, boasting guaranteed prize pools worth $3,500,000.
The third flight of Event #1: The Wild $150, took place on a cool Halloween night. The Wild $150 structure is always well-received at Playground as it gives players the chance to win big money for a small buy-in. This year’s event has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, with four chances to qualify for Day 2.
With 564 entries already received between the first two starting flights, another 261 players gathered, vying for their seat on Day 2. There were 60 players still alive when level 14 of play came to an end. The Day 1c chip lead went to Pascal Monarque, who amassed a tournament-best of 302,000 chips. Monarque was followed by George Caragiorgas (253,000), Frederic Robert (239,000), Sebastien Proulx (224,000) and Glen Hammers (217,000).
A total of 852 entries has been received through the first three starting flights, already surpassing the $100,000 guarantee. The final flight is sure to gather another strong field. Anybody who wasn’t able to qualify for Day 2 will have just one more opportunity to build a stack. Play in The Wild $150 will resume with Day 1d at 7:00 p.m. Nov. 1.
