888 Holdings claimed the “Best Digital Operator” category for 888poker.com at the Global Gaming Awards in Las Vegas Sept. 26.

“We are delighted to have received such an esteemed recognition, which is testament to our ongoing commitment to providing our players with an exceptional online poker platform and world-class user experience,” said Itai Frieberger, 888 Holdings’ chief executive officer, in a press release.

He continued that in this competitive market, the company will continue to offer a cutting-edge product, unique promotions and partnerships to increasingly dominate online.

The event, from the likes of Gambling Insider, the American Gaming Association, Reed Exhibitions and G2E Vegas, recognizes the best innovations and achievements across the digital-and-land based sectors of the industry. There are 12 categories.

About 600 of the most influential decision makers showed up in Vegas for the awards, with MGM Resorts International, Microgaming, Unibet, SG Interactive, IGT, NYX Gaming Group, Playtech and GeoComply also on the winner’s list.

The 60-person judges panel lauded 888poker for expanding its operations.

“Congratulations to 888, a first Global Gaming Award win for the operator who has made great strides in challenging the dominance of PokerStars in both the US and Europe in the past 12 months and in the process given the online poker industry a jolt that many believe the industry needs to return to its former glory,” said Gambling Insider Editor Alex Hammond on presenting 888 with the awards.
