European Poker Tour Barcelona

The European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona Main Event kicks off on August 22., and should see a massive crowd descend on the Casino Barcelona, many of them from the United Kingdom. Brits have a good record in EPTs, and specifically at events in Barcelona, so we’ve taken a look at a trio of Union Jack-sporting heroes to look out for in our live updates.

Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell is the only player in our UK spotlight who has won an EPT Main Event, doing so in October 2015 when he triumphed in Malta, a result that netted Farrell €534,330.

Since his EPT win, Farrell has cashed in 15 major live tournaments, including a brace of cashes at the EPT Grand Final worth a combined €194,680, and six cashes at this year’s World Series of Poker (WSOP) including an eighth-place finish in the High Roller for One Drop worth a cool $486,383.

To date, Farrell has $2,917,538 in live tournament winnings, an additional $2,699,575 from his online exploits, and is ranked 34th in the world by the Global Poker Index.

Oliver Price

Oliver Price heads to Barcelona in superb form having reached the final table of three online Sunday Majors on August 14., which helped take his online winnings towards the $925,000 mark.

Price is also accomplished in the world of live poker where he has earned $1,532,551 to date. His recent trip to the United States for the WSOP wasn’t as successful as Price wished it would be, with only one WSOP cash for $2,262, but he did bank $27,256 in a $1,650 buy-in event at Planet Hollywood to make a dent in his expenses.

Earlier in the year, Price finished fifth in the $25,000 Challenge at the 2016 Aussie Millions for a score of AU$190,320.

The Global Poker Index rank Price as 143rd in the world, but has been ranked as high as 26th.

Conor Beresford

Unless you follow online poker religiously, you are forgiven for not knowing who Conor Beresford is. In the live arena, the York youngster has amassed $111,355 in tournament winnings and is ranked 3,755th by the GPI.

However, Beresford is an online beast, one who is ranked fifth in the world by PocketFives thanks in part to his $3,198,916 in tournament winnings. Beresford netted $171,248 in May 2016 when he won the $2,100 NL Hold’em 4-Max event during the Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) at PokerStars, where Beresford plays as “1_conor_b_1”
