Sunday Briefing: Joseph “ihaterivers” Esler Wins the Sunday Million

Joseph “ihaterivers” Esler secured the largest online cash of his career after he topped a field of 6,842 in the PokerStars Sunday Million, the largest and richest weekly online poker tournament, namely $194,371.87.

Esler defeated Argentina’s “Conglomo222” heads-up to get his hand on the massive prize, leaving his Argentine opponent to make do with the still impressive $134,518.09 runner-up prize.

Prior to this gargantuan haul, Esler had another six-figure score on his resume, one worth $134,424, his prize for a runner-up finish in the 2014 World Championship Of Online Poker Sunday Warm-Up Special Edition.

  • Elvio “Netinho_RJ” Rodrigues winner of the Big $109 for $22,642.22
  • “ANDREIIANN” winner of the Hot $162 for $14,859.31
  • “Darkhors5150” winner of the Super-Sized Sunday for $29,599.15
  • “caseace123” winner of the $109 Bounty Builder for $15,133.59
  • “dotschulz” winner of the Hot $109 for $15,472.11
  • Oliver “ollie_p” Price winner of the Sunday Grand for $54,851.06
  • “Black88” winner of the Big $215 for $27,219.91

There were several large scores enjoyed at the virtual felt of partypoker. British star Conor “LarryErbs” Beresford won the $50,000 Weigh-In for $11,267.38 while “Hanzookid” triumphed in the $530 High Roller for $36,270.

In the $2,600 Super High Roller, “errocode2” topped a field of 58 entrants to secure a $47,125 with the $150,000 Main Event being chopped three-ways by “skarpet22” ($17,878.52), Rocco “Seph1r0t88” Palumbo ($18,956.70), and “Numbers_13” ($21,387.11).

Rounding up the Sunday Briefing this week are the biggest results from 888poker’s Sunday tournaments.

“juanfran1973” banked $21,070.62 for their $320 investment in the $80,000 Baby Whale, while Finland’s “TomYamKai” won the $100,000 Mega Deep and added $26,737.50 to their bankroll. Mexico’s “fiestafiesta” turned $160 into $13,366.50 by winning the $50,000 Sunday Crocodile, and the Czech Republic’s “Toilet_Po8L” won the $80,000 Sunday Challenge for $18,643.23.
