One of the many positives stemming from the partnership between partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) is the launch of the Grand Prix Poker Tour (GPPT), a series of live tournaments held at football stadiums around the United Kingdom, costing $109 to enter and featuring a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

These GPPT tournaments are hybrids, for want of a better word, allowing players to play several Day 1s online at partypoker, live in partner casinos or the stadium, and then complete the tournament in a live setting.

They have been hugely popular with recreational and professional poker players alike, as has the Online Grand Prix, one of which is in full swing right now.

As the name suggests, the Online Grand Prix is the online version of the GPPT. Partypoker and DTD want to eventually host an online leg with a $1 million guarantee and are getting to this magical number by increasing the guarantee by $100,000 on each online leg every time the guarantee is met.

Last time the Online Grand Prix ran, in June 2016, it boasted of a $400,000 guarantee, and although the 3,892 entrants meant there was an overlay, this latest edition has still had its guarantee boosted to an impressive $500,000.

Ian Simpson, the former Irish Open champion, won that particular event, turning $109 into $51,891.

To help hit this ambitious total, there are dozens of Day 1s taking place between now and September 5, which also happens to be the day of the final.

Each of the Day 1s cost $109 to enter and end after 16 levels of play. Anyone with chips in front of them at the end of the 16th level progresses to Day 2 at 9:15 p.m. on September 5. However, if they are not happy with the size of the stack they are taking through with them, they can play in more Day 1s (as many as they wish) and try again, but can only take their largest chip stack through with them to Day 2.

The Online Grand Prix is open to players all around the world, all you need is a partypoker account and $109 cash or an equivalent tournament ticket in your account. If you don’t already play on the site, download partypoker via UK & Ireland PokerNews, enter the bonus code UKPNEWS when making your first deposit, and partypoker matches your initial deposit 100% up to £250 in the form of a welcome bonus.

partypoker Sign a Sponsored Pro

Partypoker has added to its stable of stellar players by signing Natalia Breviglieri as a sponsored pro. Recently, partypoker added four-time world champion boxer Carl Froch, and Patrick Leonard as ambassadors, but Breviglieri’s role is different in that she is being sponsored by partypoker to play online and live tournaments.

Breviglieri is a popular figure on the poker circuit, and narrowly missed out on a bracelet this summer when she finished fourth in the Ladies Event at the 2016 World Series of Poker for a career-best score of $45,683.

Players can battle with Breviglieri at partypoker, where she plays as “N4talB”, and will be seen sporting partypoker patches in live events in the UK and around Europe.
