While many of New Jersey's big-name players, including last week's big winner and 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold-bracelet winnerMichael Gagliano, were across the country playing in the WSOP Main Event, players turned out in respectable numbers to play online at regulated poker rooms in the Garden State.
Jason "TiltedHard" Lawhun was Sunday's biggest winner thanks to shipping the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special, $50,000 Gtd for $10,750. Also scoring big in this tournament were Daniel "AvaGray" Lupo (2nd - $7,750), Mitch "TrumpsDong" Friedberg (3rd - $5,875), and Josh "Superflu0us1" Rosengarten (8th - $1,500).
Yong "iFoldN0T" Kwon also had a huge day headlined by winning the PokerStars NJ Sunday High Roller [6-Max], $15,000 Gtd for $7,500. Kwon also snagged another $525 with a sixth place performance in the PokerStars NJ Nightly Stars, $10,000 Gtd and banked an additional $800 with another sixth place finish in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com Sunday Seconds $10K Gtd under the screenname "LuckySpewy".
New Jersey's "Xcelman61" was the big Sunday winner on WSOP.com NJ and 888poker NJ after taking down the $30,000 GTD Weekly Sunday for $8,400.
Meanwhile, Steven "ChipsJammed" Edwards snagged his third-biggest score on New Jersey regulated online poker rooms when he won the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com Sunday $40k Championship Bonus for $8,000. Edwards' biggest score came on June 22, 2014 when he shipped the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com Sunday $50K for $10,000 and his second-biggest score came on April 5, 2015 when he took down the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $35,000 GTD Weekly Sunday for $9,450.
