Roberto Romanello To Represent partypoker During the WSOP
Two months ago, partypoker signed British pro Patrick Leonard as a brand ambassador, and now the company has another stellar name sporting its patches in Las Vegas this summer after it was announced that Roberto Romanello is to represent partypoker during his Las Vegas trip this summer.
Romanello has live tournament cashes dating back to 2006 and winnings of almost $3.2 million.
In February 2009, Romanello won the partypoker.com European Open V. At the time, this was a career-best score of $200,000 for. He then blew that score out of the water when he won the European Poker Tour Prague Main Event in Season 7 (2010) for €640,000.
Four months after his EPT victory, Romanello won the World Poker Tour Bratislava Main Event for €140,685.
All Romanello needs to complete what many call poker's "Triple Crown" is a World Series of Poker bracelet, but the most sought-after piece of poker jewelery has eluded him thus far. In 2013, Romanello finished 21st from 4,756 entrants in the $1,111 No-Limit Hold'em Little One for One Drop, then fell just short of glory again in 2014 when he bust in 13th place in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event at the WSOP.
Last year was the closest Romanello had come to a bracelet, falling in fourth place in the €3,250 8-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha event at the WSOP Europe in Berlin.
"I am thrilled to be wearing the partypoker patch during my hunt for the Triple Crown in Vegas," Romanello said. "Like other professionals, I have noticed all the great work partypoker has been doing this past year so I was keen to discuss how I could work with them to continue the resurgence of the site. I will be playing a range of events including the $10,000 Main Event at the Rio and the $1,000,000 guaranteed partypoker WPT500 at the ARIA."
Romanello will be keeping partypoker blog readers up-to-date with his poker playing and exploits away from the felt throughout the summer, as will Mike Sexton, Tony Dunst, and the aforementioned Leonard.
