2016 PokerNews Cup

On August 10, 2016, the PokerNews Cup will head back to the King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, for a six-day long poker festival tailored around recreational players.

From August 10-15, players from all over Europe will flock to the largest poker room on the continent to fight for the 10th Main Event in the history of PokerNews' own live tournament series and to bring home a share of combined guaranteed prize pools of more than €260,000.

All eyes will be on the Main Event running from August 11-15, where the players need to pony up an affordable €200 entry fee to compete for a share of €200,000.

With four starting flights, four live satellites, and plenty of chances to qualify online at Tonybet Poker in July, this year everyone gets the opportunity to join the event and celebrate the 10th edition of the PokerNews in style.

Known to be one of the best low buy-in events in Europe, the PokerNews Cup Main Event is a great tournament for those who seek value and dream to hop into the world of professional live poker.

While the buy-in might be smaller than the one of many tournaments running at your regular casino, the PokerNews Cup Main Event is a lot more than the usual low buy-in event.

Besides the premium €200,000 guarantee, the PokerNews Cup Main Event is also a true international live poker tournament where recreational players get the opportunity to sit and play with some of the best in the game.

Over the years, champions like World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winners Joe Hachem, Jeff Lisandro, and Mark Vos joined the field to play and share their love for the game with hundreds of regulars.

Back in November 2015, the last edition of the series saw Unibet pro Quentin Leconte and World Series of Poker Europe champion Elena Litvinyuk fight shoulder-to-shoulder in the Main Event while young superstar Fedor Holz entertained everyone in King's famous cash games.

Add this to work of the PokerNews Live Reporting team that will be on the spot to live blog from the event like it was an European Poker Tour or a World Poker Tour stop and the great work that the people at King's do to take care of their players — and you can be sure that the PokerNews Cup Main Event will be the best event to play if you want to discover what international live tournament poker is about.

More Than Just a Main Event

The 10th edition of the PokerNews Cup does not end with the Main Event, as the six-day poker festival features an 11-event calendar running alongside the non-stop cash game action at King's.

On August 12, Omaha poker players get the chance to play in a €10,000 guaranteed PokerNews Pot-Limit Omaha event accessible for as little as €115, while at 18:00 on August 13, the €100 King's Hold'em Championship will keep busy those who bust from the Main Event and those who wait for the turbo Day 1 starting at 21:00 with a juicy €15,000 guaranteed prize pool.

All in all, the 11 tournaments in the schedule guarantee great action and premium prizes, giving access to a combined prize pool of €260,000 with buy-ins ranging from €40 to €250.

"The 10th edition of the PokerNews Cup will be an event like no other," iBus Media and PokerNews CEO Jon Squires said. "This is an important milestone and we want everyone to join us at the King's Casino for a celebration to remember.

"We want the players to enjoy every single second they spend with us and we promise to keep everyone busy with a lot of great tournaments as well as with one of the most glorious players' party that Rozvadov has ever seen."
