The World Poker Tour's next event is right around the corner, with the WPT Amsterdam €3,300 Main Event kicking off on May 10 and running through May 14.

Holland Casino will play host to the tournament, and it will allow reentry into Day 1b for players eliminated on Day 1a. The event will also utilize a "best stack forward" format, giving players that bag on Day 1a a chance to play Day 1b in an attempt to bag up more chips and bring their biggest stack to Day 2.

Last year at WPT Amsterdam, a field of 341 showed out, and Farid Yachou took it down for €201,000. Yachou's run became even more glorified when he went on to win the WPT Tournament of Champions at the end of the season, taking $381,600 in true Cinderella fashion, and you can read more about his storied run here.

In addition to the €3,300 Main Event, players are offered a pricier €6,000 High Roller, running May 9-10. Last year's edition of this one attracted 76 entries and saw Jason Wheeler walk away with the €125,000 top prize. Needless to say, it's going to be a fun week in Amsterdam with some high-profile events attracting big names.

For players looking to max out on tournament poker action, bringing a computer to Amsterdam and double dipping online and live is surely the play.

Season 15 of the WPT successfully kicked off with the 2016 partypoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship. Seth Davies won that event for $226,893 after topping a field of 417 entries, and the Amsterdam event is expected to carry the torch for the tour.
