Steve O'Dwyer's Clay Poker Dolls are Real and Here to Stay
In case you don't see enough of Steve O'Dwyer and his never-ending list of mind-blowing poker successes, you now have the opportunity to keep a small reproduction of the LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge champ, one you can ask for wisdom in your darkest poker moments.
Yes, you too can be the proud owner of a Steve O'Dwyer's clay doll, just like the one that undoubtedly led Isaac Haxton to a win in Event #86 at the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure back in January.
Started as a fun pastime by O'Dwyer's sister — who at this point is known only as @SteveODwyer's Sister on Twitter — the production of the O'Dwyer-looking clay poker dolls, as well as other requested players, has already grown to the point that the artist is planning to set up a proper business and a range of different payment methods to sell her creations.
"The power of Steve is needed so I got the doll," said Bill Perkins
O'Dwyer's positive results at the felt seem to have boosted his sister's business with many poker pros turning to her to get one of her clay dolls.
"I bought one of me just for fun and I am waiting for it to arrive," hedge fund manager and poker pro Bill Perkins shared with PokerNews. "The power of Steve is needed so I got the doll."
Although it isn't clear whether people have started to buy the O'Dwyer's clay dolls for good luck or to just put needles in them, it seems the group of poker personalities and clay enthusiasts keeps getting bigger by the day.
So far, the list of confirmed dolls owners includes names like World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Ben Yu - who ordered one of Jennifer Shahade -, WSOP and World Poker Tour (WPT) champion Scott Seiver, and Aaron "aejones " Jones, who recently made headlines in poker and in daily fantasy sports by winning $5 million in the DraftKings Fantasy Football World Championship.
While you can see a selection of Maureen O'Dwyer's clay dolls - including the one to celebrate O'Dwyer's confirmed participation to the upcoming World Series of Poker Circuit event in Tbilisi, Georgia - in the photo gallery below, you can also visit her Twitter profile to see all her creations and, eventually place an order for your own poker doll.
