Poker personality Kara Scott has inked a new deal with 888poker, signing on as the newest ambassador for the online poker room. The new deal was announced via press release on Tuesday.

Scott, who refers to herself as a poker enthusiast rather than a professional poker player, according to the release, boasts $643,880 in live tournament earnings. The bulk of those earnings, €312,600 ($413,612), came from a second-place finish in the €3,500 Main Event at the PaddyPower Irish Open in 2009. Her poker résumé also includes two cashes in the World Series of Poker Main Event.

"I've long been impressed with 888poker's focus on providing a great player experience," Scott said. "I'm a big believer in just how much fun poker can be and adore being involved with the recreational side of the game, as well as the more serious side. Joining the 888poker team is a fantastic milestone for my career and I feel honored to be representing such a key player in the poker industry. I'm also really excited to be a part of their impressive team of ambassadors! I am looking forward to a bright and successful future with 888poker."

Scott's career in poker extends beyond ruffling chips on the felt, most notably in the realm of poker presenting where Scott has served stints with Sky Poker on Sky Television, the European Poker Tour, High Stakes Poker on GSN, Poker Central, and the WSOP on ESPN.

She is nominated for Poker Presenter of the Year at the American Poker Awards, where she will also play host to the ceremonies after earlier serving as official draft commissioner for the Global Poker League draft. Both of these events are to take place Thursday, Feb. 25, at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

In celebration of Scott's addition to the team, 888poker will feature Scott in the $3,000 Welcome Kara Scott Free Tournament, running on Monday, Feb. 29, at 19:05 GMT. The tournament will offer a $100 bounty on Scott, and there is no password required to enter.
