FTOPS XXIX Kicks Off Sunday with Two Exciting Events 0001

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series, better known as FTOPS, is kicking off its 46-event schedule this Sunday, Feb. 21 on Full Tilt. The online poker poker series runs through March 13, guaranteeing at least $1 million in combined prizes.

The 29th edition of the online poker festival may be the last, as Amaya Gaming, the owners of both PokerStars and Full Tilt, recently announced that the two sites will merge to share liquidity on one network in the spring.

The poker series begins with two exciting no-limit hold'em events on Sunday. The first, Event #1, is a full-ring, $100 buy-in tournament with a $100,000 guarantee at 13:30 ET. The second, Event #2, a six-max, $50 buy-in tournament with a $20,000 guarantee at 15:30 ET. Players can try their hand at qualifying for a fraction of the cost to these events via the many satellites running around the clock on Full Tilt.

Additionally, as we reported in this week's edition of the BlogNews Weekly, Full Tilt will be hosting the FTOPS Blog Freeroll on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 12:00 ET, where six players will win a $100 ticket to FTOPS Event #1. Those interested in participating in the freeroll can learn the password by checking out the Full Tilt Blog on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Unlike in the past, there will not be a MiniFTOPS following the FTOPS. However, lower-limit players can enjoy many lower buy-in events starting at just $10, including Event #32 on March 6, which will be a no-limit progressive knockout format.

Mid-stakes and high-stakes players also will have plenty to choose from on the schedule, with buy-ins climbing up all the way to $500.

While most of the events will take place in the popular no-limit hold'em format, players that enjoy other games can look forward to formats including pot-limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha hi-low, no-limit Omaha hi-low, razz, H.O.R.S.E., seven-game, 10-game, and 25-game.

Additionally, the series provides a plethora of tournament structures including four-max, six-max, full-ring, knockout, turbo, super-turbo, multi-entry, reentry, rebuy, mega stack, and Rush Poker types.

As one might expect, the highlight of the poker festival is the FTOPS XXIX $500 Main Event, taking place on March 13 at 13:30 ET. This tournament allows players to reenter up to two times and features a big $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.
