While poker players from all over the world get ready for the 2015-2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) International Circuit Marrakech Main Event, things are heating up also in Tbilisi, as the capital of Georgia gets ready to welcome the first WSOP C event in the country's history.

Representatives from the organisers Adjarabet.com announced that on Monday, January 25, a panel composed by poker media veteran and ESPN WSOP anchor Kara Scott, 2010 WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, and WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel will meet with representatives from the regional press.

The media delegation, which is set to include also representatives from Georgia's national television station, will discuss about the series that will run from March 3 through March 9 at the Tbilisi Sports Palace.

"The meeting shows how the mainstream can also be fascinated by the game of poker. - Kara Scott"

"When I was asked about Georgia, I first thought it was a place where I didn't need my passport," laughed Effel. “I am excited to be travelling to the other side of the world to celebrate the WSOP's extension in March at the cross-roads between Europe and Asia in the capital of Georgia."

Similarly, Scott announced she will also be at Georgia's largest indoor sports arena to participate to the event. "I'm looking forward to my first trip to Tbilisi, and plan to take lots of photos of this beautiful and interesting city," shared Scott."I've been hearing very positive noises about the WSOP circuit event that will be there in March and the line up of media already confirmed for it is exciting. It goes to show how the mainstream can also be fascinated by the game of poker."

"I hear rumours of big cash games." - Jonathan Duhamel

The media representatives will also get the opportunity to discuss about the event and poker in general with a WSOP Main Event champion, as Duhamel confirmed he will be traveling from Canada to discover what is considered to be one of the most vibrant up-and-coming spots in Europe's poker scene.

"I met the people from Adjarabet at tournaments late last year and was impressed how they were making a conscious effort to reach out personally to players about March's big WSOP Circuit event," Duhamel said. "I am delighted to be heading out for the big press launch. It will be a great adventure. I hear rumours of big cash games and players not exposed to as many international pros so will be checking that out too."

The Richest Poker Festival in Georgia's History

The 2016 WSOP Circuit event in Georgia is set to become the richest poker event to ever be organized in the region thanks to a whopping $700,000 guaranteed prize pool to be distributed across a total of 19 tournaments.

Talking to PokerNews in November 2015, WSOP Director Gregory Chochon explained that he felt nothing but genuine excitement "that the WSOP Circuit continues to expand and we are thrilled to be hosting an event in Tbilisi, Georgia. The fact that this event offers attractive guarantees and is in the country's largest indoor sports arena is great news for poker."
