It's time to dig your skiing gear out of the garage, dust off your suitcase, and find your passport because the latest leg of the exciting 888Live tour is heading to Austria between February 4-7, 2016.

The 888Live Austria is set to be an alpine adventure like no other you've experienced, mixing high-octane poker action and even hotter – or should that be colder? – action on the slopes of one of the most magnificent ski resorts in the world, Innsbruck Igls – Patscherkofel.

The snow park has been designed from scratch to offer beginners and advanced skiers numerous obstacles and jumps, while the resorts boasts of the highest point of Innsburck's local mountains allowing for breath-taking panoramic views, a perfect way to relax to after a day on the slopes. There's also the bustling nightlife offered by the 4-Star Grauer Bar Hotel, the ideal venue to party the night away while recounting your bad beat stories from the day's poker action!

Speaking of the poker side of things, 888Live Austria will be an awesome event if last year's tournament is any indication. In January 2015, a total of 115 players exchanged €400+€40 for 25,000 tournament chips, creating a €45,540 prize pool, which broke the €40,000 guarantee. It was the top 13 finishers who received a slice of that juicy prize pool, each bagging at least €960 for their efforts.

Germany's Thorsten Facius is the reigning champion after he defeated Andelo Bozic of Bosnia & Herzegovina heads-up to scoop the chunky €13,000 first place prize, the trophy and bragging rights among his peers. Bozic collected €8,420 as the runner-up.

A host of stars are expected to head to Austria for this first leg of the 2016 season including Dominik Nitsche, a three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner. However, despite some big names being in attendance, the 888Live series prides itself on the fact it is for the players and has a fun atmosphere, even though there is some significant money to play for with the $400 buy-in event boasting of a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

888Live Austria is perfect for poker and skiing fans of all ages and skill levels so why not see if you can bag yourself a VIP package over at 888poker and get 2016 off to a fantastic start?
