Brandon West Tops 1,162 Entries to Win WSOP Circuit PH Opening Event for $106,303
The 2015/2016 World Series of Poker Circuit continued this weekend at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. The stop, which will award 12 gold rings and culminate with the $1,675 Main Event this coming weekend, kicked off with Event #1: $580 No-Limit Hold'em Reentry, a tournament that attracted 1,162 entries and created a prize pool of $581,000.
Just 177 players returned for Day 2 on Sunday, and it would take until 6:30 a.m. on Monday for local player Brandon West to emerge victorious for $106,030, his first WSOP-related cash. Prior to the win, West had less than $11,000 in tournament earnings, with his top score being $7,377.
The tournament, which featured six starting flights, saw 117 players make the money, while everyone at the final table secured a five-figure payday.
