WSOP Europe Kicks Off Thursday in Berlin; Schedule, Coverage Plans, and More 0001

On Thursday, the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe festival will kick off in Berlin, Germany. It's the first time WSOP Europe will take place from the country, and there will be 10 gold bracelet events held on from Oct. 8-24, culminating with the prestigious €10,450 Main Event.

PokerNews will have a reporting presence at the tournament and you can find dedicated coverage on our WSOP mini site. With the help from our friends at 888Poker, PokerNews will have daily recaps, feature stories, interviews, a special "888 Hand of the Day" piece, podcasts, and more surrounding all of the action in Berlin.

Spielbank Casino will play host to the events. Kicking off the festivities will be the €2,200 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event on Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. local time. On Friday, Oct. 9, the highly-anticipated "Oktoberfest" No-Limit Hold'em will begin, featuring four starting flights — two on Friday and two on Saturday — and an affordable buy-in of €550. Players in the Oktoberfest event will begin with 5,000 starting chips and attempt to fight through 15 30-minute levels on Day 1. Reentries are allowed, with each player allowed one entry per flight. On Day 2 and Day 3, level duration will be extended to 60 minutes.
