The Masters Classic of Poker Returns to the Netherlands in November
The Masters Classic of Poker (MCOP) is once again returning to the Holland Casino Amsterdam with 12 action-packed events from Nov. 13-21, 2015.
As usual, the poker festival is highlighted by its €4,000+250 buy-in MCOP Main Event. The primary difference in the Main Event this year is that instead of the single opening day in the past, it'll feature two opening days on Nov. 16 & 17.
The poker festival has a long and storied tradition in the Netherlands dating back to 1992, and each year is the biggest poker series hosted in the country. Dutch poker players will be vying to keep the Main Event title on home soil as players from the Netherlands have won the event two years running and three of the past four years.
Last year, Dutch poker pro Ruben Visser beat out 2011 MCOP Main Event champion David Boyaciyan to win the top prize of €225,000 as part of a three-way final table deal.
In 2013, former PokerStars Team Pro and Dutch poker player Noah Boeken won the €306,821 top prize after outlasting a 298-player field in that year's Main Event.
In addition to the Main Event, this year's MCOP schedule features other exciting events — mostly in no-limit hold'em — across a variety of different tournament formats. The buy-ins for these side events range from €250+25 all the way up to €10,000+250 for the MCOP High Roller Re-Entry Event taking place on Nov. 15.
Additionally, players looking to get entry into the Main Event at a fraction of the cost will have the opportunity to do so in a satellite event with a €250+25 buy-in on Nov. 15, which includes unlimited rebuys and an add-on.
