Tomorrow, the 2015 Unibet Open Cannes – a €1,000 + €100 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout Main Event – will kickoff at the beautiful Casino Barrière Le Croisette. The Main Event features two starting flights on Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. local time. The tournament, which features 60-minute levels and start players with 30,000 in chips, is limited to 450 players.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture action from the Main Event, and we're happy to announce that players will have the opportunity to use the My Stack app to update their hands and chip counts straight into the live blog.

In addition to the Main Event, there are several other events on the schedule including an invite-only eSports Battle Royal SnG, €550 Deepstack, and a €2,000 + €200 High Roller, just to name a few.
Aside from poker, players are invited for "Welcome Drinks" from 10:00 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, September 17 at the Hôtel Majestic Barrière's pool deck. Then, two days later on Saturday, September 19, the Players Party will be held at the Heel Club.
As Unibet says on their website: "Players will be accommodated just a stone’s throw away at either the legendary celebrity haunt that is Hôtel Majestic Barrière, or the equally sumptuous Hôtel Gray d’Albion, so you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy Cannes’ other attractions, should you fancy taking a break from the tables."
For those looking to attend, know that the closest airport to Cannes is Nice Cote d'Azur International Airport, which is located 20 KM west of Nice. From there, you can catch a bus, train, taxi, powerboat, and even by helicopter!
Here's a look at the 2015 Unibet Open Cannes schedule:
Last year, Daniel Smith topped a mammoth field of 457 players to capture an €88,000 first-place prize and the coveted Unibet Open trophy. It was a memorable performance by Smith, who was railed by his father on his way to defeating Denmark's Michael Nielsen in heads-up play. The year before that, Frenchman Quentin Lecomte topped a field of 313 players to win the event for a smooth €100,000.
More recently, the Unibet Open was in Glasgow back in June for an event that attracted 221 players and created a prize pool of €176,800. Bulgaria's Daniel Chutrov emerged victorious in that event to win £43,000.
