2015 WSOP Main Event Bubble Boy To Get Paid Thanks To New Sponsorship Deal
The "bubble boy" in the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event won't go away empty-handed this summer, thanks to a new sponsorship deal inked by the WSOP this week.
The announcement came Thursday that Black Clover has become the "official supplier of WSOP cutting-edge lifestyle apparel brand," and in addition to a number of promotions throughout the rest of the 2015 WSOP, the company has agreed to give away a 2016 WSOP Main Event seat to the unlucky player who bubbles the money in the 2015 WSOP Main Event.
This year the WSOP has guaranteed it will pay out 1,000 players in the 2015 Main Event, as long as there is at least 5,000 entries. Black Clover will now hand the 1,001st place finisher a $10,000 seat in next year's big dance as the official "bubble boy" of the 2015 event.
Black Clover's product line-up includes a wide range of apparel and accessories including hats, hoodies, t-shirts, beanies, and belts, that will now tie in the WSOP brand with it's own "Live Lucky" motto. The Black Clover brand will now be visible all around the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and Executive Director Ty Stewart could not be more excited to have signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with the company.
"It's great to have Black Clover part of the WSOP family," he said. "They are a high-quality brand with a great product offering and will offer our players and game some great opportunities to 'Live Lucky.'"
Other promotions will include gifting a limited-edition Black Clover Champions Hat to all WSOP bracelet winners, a commemorative hat to all 1,000 players who cash in the 2015 WSOP Main Event, and an assortment of signature merchandise to players in lucky seats throughout a number of different events.
Online players on WSOP.com in Nevada will also find specially-designated freeroll tournaments on the calendar awarding merchandise.
"We are excited to begin a relationship with the poker community at large through the game's biggest brand, the WSOP," said Black Clover President Matt Lichtie. "Black Clover has always encouraged all to 'Live Lucky' and we want the poker players who are looking for quality gear and a little luck to join us in our way of living, being comfortable and feeling good at the tables."
The specially-designed WSOP Black Clover merchandise and apparel is currently being sold at retail outlets throughout North America including WSOP.com, Golfsmith, Dick's, Scheels, and Hibbitt Sports.
The 2015 WSOP Main Event begins play Sunday, July 5.
