Jason Somerville To Return as Part of the PokerNews Podcast at 2015 WSOP
PokerNews is proud to announce that plenty of big things will be happening for this summer's PokerNews Podcast at the 2015 World Series of Poker. First, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Somerville will be back to provide a pro's point of view of insight, analysis, and debate. Second, Remko Rinkema, renowned media personality and host of the Remko Report, will be handling the show's hosting duties. Both Somerville and Rinkema will be joined by Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters.
"I'm very excited to be returning to the PokerNews Podcast for another fun summer of WSOP action!" said an excited Somerville. "I'm particularly thrilled to be welcoming Remko Rinkema to the PNPod squad, one of the finest journalists in our industry. I can't wait to bring the fans all the coffee, soda, juice, and quality WSOP coverage they've come to expect."
In similar fashion to recent years, the PokerNews Podcast will record shows on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the summer, with plans to record daily once the WSOP Main Event begins. The team is also ironing out the logistics of streaming the show through Somerville's Twitch.tv channel, where the Run It Up! maestro boasts over seven million views and 100,000 followers.
"Every year since 2009, I've covered the WSOP, and this year I've landed the sweetest gig of all!" said Rinkema. "It's awesome to be the host of the PNPod, and I look forward to bringing you all the best and most fun summer coverage. I've got some big shoes to fill, but hopefully I can press the right buttons every once in a while. I especially look forward to getting some great guests on the show, and while we're not on the air you can all count on me chasing Phil Ivey down the hallways. Well, at least I'll try to get him on."
Not only will Rinkema be hosting the PokerNews Podcast, which is coming off its most successful year ever that included being listed in the Top 10 Most Popular Podcasts of 2014 on Podbean, but he will also be maintaining his duties as host of the Remko Report. The Remko Report podcast became the latest edition to the iBus Media Network of shows and specializes in in-depth, one-on-one interviews with poker players, officials, and industry members.
The iBus Media Network of shows is well over three million total plays and has included top guests such as Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Nolan Dalla, Ty Stewart, Greg Merson, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth, and many more. We also had a very special guest appearance from Los Angeles Lakers owner, the late Jerry Buss.
