Georgia's first-ever World Poker Tour National (WPTN) live poker event will kick off on Saturday, May 30, at the Europe Bet Poker Room in the country's capital, Tbilisi. Set to attract many of poker's top names from Eastern Europe, the event marks the first step in a recently announced partnership between the WPT and Europe-Bet.com, Georgia's largest independent poker and casino operator.

The tournament series will include a 12-event schedule, featuring a $1,000 Main Event carrying a $100,000 guarantee, and other featured events like a $30,000 guaranteed $250 WPT Georgia Poker Championship, and $20,000 guaranteed WPT Caucasus Open coming with a $500 entry fee.

"We are thrilled to kick off this partnership with a $200,000 guaranteed WPT National event, and look forward to sharing the WPT experience with everyone associated with the spectacular Europe-Bet.com Poker Club," said WPT President Adam Pliska. "This new arrangement marks the continued expansion of the WPT global licensing initiative, expanding the tour like never before."

Similarly, the CEO of Europe-Bet, Nicolas Fleiderman, explained that he believes that the group's partnership with WPT "will help us expand our poker penetration at a solid pace. We are excited to host WPT events at our premier poker club, and to showcase our strong online offering."

Running until June 7, the event will be hosted at the Europe-Bet.com Poker Club, a 1,400-square meter poker room that is the only in the country to offer 24/7 service, bars, restaurants, and up to 20 poker tables.

Tbilisi, the geographic center of not just Georgia, but the whole Caucasus as well, is a blend of historical heritage and modern infrastructure. Old districts, ancient backyards, tight alleys, timeworn churches — the other dimension that blatantly transforms itself into modern buildings, colorful facades, dancing and singing fountains, and trendy streets.

The Georgians are famous for their remarkable hospitality; according to travel statistics, on average three million tourists visit Tbilisi annually. Any Georgian family will wine and dine you according to the highest standard of generosity. Tbilisi has a reputation to be the safest city in the Eastern Europe. The Tbilisi Patrol Police will make sure to keep you safe 24/7.

"I prefer the older districts of Tbilisi," said Rainer Flaferty, a tourist from Germany. "I like the areas where ancient buildings and houses are still present. I can look at modern constructions anywhere, but the architecture in Tbilisi is unique, like nowhere else in the world. This is what makes it stand out from all the cities in the world.”

Tbilisi is also famous for its busy nightlife. There is a variety of options at your disposal. You can visit a beer bar, savor Georgian and foreign cuisine, or enjoy live music. There are three major streets in Tbilisi where you can find bars on every corner: Akhvlediani (Perovskaia) St., Qiacheli St., and Shardeni St. (in the historical district of Tbilisi). There are several clubs on Shardeni street, which offer you different types of entertainment: karaoke and disco parties and many, many more to satisfy tourists of with all types of tastes. The nightlife of Tbilisi is also very various for electronic music lovers — there are several world-famous underground clubs here.

We recommend hotels near the poker room, which are both affordable and comfortable: Primavera and Courtyard Marriot Tbilisi. More details can be found at www.WPT.ge.
