From April 4-12, the Mid-States Poker Tour will host its second Wisconsin stop of the season, and the first at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in downtown Milwaukee. The stop, which will culminate in a $200,000 guaranteed Main Event from April 10-12, looks to build on last year's inaugural event, which set a state record for largest field for a major when it attracted 487 entries. It also marked the second-largest event in MSPT history.

None other than Michigan's Jason Zarlenga won that tournament for $120,164, which was doubly satisfying as he had won the MSPT Firekeepers four months earlier for $101,482. That first go round also attracted some of the state's biggest names including Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin, Wisconsin PPA Director Steve Verrett, and online legend Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon, just to name a few.

"Potawatomi proved to be a great stop on the MSPT in Season 5, so much so that the property will host two stops in Season 6," said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "We're looking forward to the April stop being as big, if not bigger, than the last time we were there."

The MSPT was last in Wisconsin back in February when it hosted the MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells. That tournament attracted a venue record 463 entries and was won by local Ben Wiora, who is expected to make the trip to Potawatomi.

"As far as tournaments go, I want to play in some more MSPT events," Wiora told PokerNews shortly after his win. "I think they did an amazing job with the entire tournament. Other than that, nothing's set in stone — perhaps maybe a few WSOP events this summer."

The stop will kick off with a series of qualifiers and super satellites into the $1,100 buy-in Main Event, which will feature two starting flights on Friday and Saturday night respectively. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to capture all the action from that event, and of course players will have the opportunity to use the My Stack app to update their hands and chip counts straight into the live blog.
