Season 6 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) continues this weekend with their latest $1,100 buy-in Main Event. This one happened to be a $300,000 guarantee and will kick off this Friday, March 27, at one of the premiere stops on the tour, Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa.

What's more, players only need to be 18 years old to play at the stop.

Located in Tama, Iowa, between Des Moines and Cedar Rapids on Highway 30, Meskwaki Casino features a huge bingo hall, table games, active craps tables, good blackjack games, horse book, indoor pool, exercise room, spa, and a large number of hotel rooms.

"Meskwaki has been a staple on the MSPT schedule for a long time, and with good reason as it always draws a massive crowd," said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "The first four stops of our sixth season have surpassed all expectations, and we're confident we'll do it again in Iowa. There's no denying there will be some great poker action to be had."

The MSPT was last in Meskwaki back in November. That tournament attracted 426 entrants and saw World Series of Poker bracelet winner Nick Jivkov notch the second-biggest score of his career by capturing the $104,974 first-place prize. It was redemption for the man from Des Plaines, Illinois, as he had finished runner-up to Terry Ring in the very same event back in 2013.

Other winners of the MSPT Meskwaki include Jonathan Olson ($95,741), Matt Anderson ($100,075), Jesse Spooner ($81,060), Andy Van Blair ($88,958), Terry Ring ($87,694), Michael Reynolds ($81,060), Dan Sun ($77,103), and Muneer Ahmed ($89,184).

"Whoever said 'you need your best poker face and winning strategy to win at poker' must not have played at Meskwaki Poker Room," Meskwaki Poker Room Manager Joe Fernandez previously told PokerNews. "Whether you are a newcomer, a pleasure player, or a high-stakes thrill seeker, we have a game for you. Our classic card room and cozy players’ lounge exude such rustic and scintillating ambience that makes every poker game more of a friendly art than a gut-wrenching science and, therefore, your winning out of luck is never ever frowned upon."

The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to report all the action from the Main Event, and will offer players the opportunity to utilize the MyStack app for free. The app allows players to update their chip counts and tournament progress straight into the live blog, meaning their friends and family can keep up with their progress in real time.
