This weekend's Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Wisconsin State Poker Championship, a $1,100 buy-in $200,000 guaranteed Main Event that will take place at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells, is shaping up to be a massive affair. Satellite numbers have hit an all-time high at the stop, and early indicators suggest the guarantee could be more than doubled.

"There have been an unprecedented number of entries in both our $65 super satellites and $250 qualifiers," said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "We're looking forward to this being the biggest and best Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells stop to date, and if all goes according to play we'll be awarding six-figures to the eventual winner."

Back in September, Benjamin Berlowski topped a field of 349 entrants to capture the title and $90,632 in prize money. Other past winners of the MSPT Ho-Chunk include Jason Sell (Season 5), Daniel Bekavac (Season 4), Josh Reichard (Season 4), and Joe Illingworth (Season 3).

This weekend, the MSPT will return to Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells for the fifth time, though this is the first year it's been officially branded the Wisconsin State Poker Championship. Of course the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to bring poker fans live updates all weekend long. To follow live updates from the event, be sure to visit our Live Updates section.

Among those confirmed to play are MSPT Team Pros Blake Bohn and Matt Kirby; businessman and champagne aficionado Larry Ormson; PPA Wisconsin State Director Steve Verrett; online legend Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon, and a long list of Ho-Chunk regulars including Dan Almerli, Kenneth Payne, and Todd Adler, just to name a few.

"Each time the MSPT is here our event numbers go up and up, obviously the players enjoy this tournament," Beth Anacker, Ho-Chunk Gaming Senior Marketing Manager, previously told PokerNews. "It is a crazy time here, but the staff and I look forward to this event."
