Last week, Jorryt van Hoof returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete in the final table of the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event. The Dutchman took third for $3,807,753, and starting today he'll be back in action in his home country's largest poker offering — the Master Classics of Poker (MCOP).

Beginning today with a three-day €1,500 event and running through Saturday, Nov. 29, the 2014 MCOP will be highlighted by the €4,250 Main Event taking place Nov. 25-28. Van Hoof will be in the mix and gunning for the title that is expected come along with around €300,000 in prize money, as will many other top pros from around the world. Last year, Noah Boeken topped a field of 298 entries to earn the €306,821 top prize.

Back in August, van Hoof happily signed on as an ambassador of the MCOP, which is known as the "Wimbledon of Dutch poker tournaments," and he'll certainly be a player that all other competitors can expect a very tough opponent in.

"We selected van Hoof as our new ambassador because he's currently the top poker player in the Netherlands, so of course we're honored that he's going to promote the MCOP," Holland Casino Amsterdam, the host venue of the MCOP, said in their press release.

The MCOP Main Event dates back to 1993 and has a rich history of winners including Surinder Sunar (1993), Johan Storakers (2003), Robert Mizrachi (2004), Trond Eidsvig (2007), and Ole Schemion (2012), with the largest first-place prize coming in 2006 when Ali Jalali won the event for a massive €700,000.

What's more is that PokerNews will be on hand to live report the 2014 MCOP Main Event from start to finish. Be sure to stay tuned in right here to PokerNews for live updates from the event and to see if van Hoof can follow up his massive WSOP score with another major final table result.
