The Premier League is reaching that critical point where we start to see if the early contenders can stick with the pace, and where the top sides make themselves known. We've got some great betting tips on BookieSmash that will help you to get the most out of this time of the season.

In the Sir Alex Ferguson era, November was always when Manchester United would put a poor start behind them and reel in the leaders. This time around, Manuel Pellegrini is trying to perform the same trick at Manchester City.

Sunday afternoon sees Pellegrini's superteam of global aces take on Ronald Koeman's Southampton, a side that pretty much no one would have predicted would be ahead of City in the Premier League by the end of November. They're there, though, and we wait to see if they can continue the run that sees them with the least number of goals conceded.

That goals-conceded figure means it's likely to be a low-scoring game between the two sides, but we see City prevailing. A 1-0 City win will get odds of 17/2 on Bet365.

Before that, there are eight games on Saturday, with many including teams who need their fortunes to change. One of those is Liverpool, at home to Stoke after a calamitous draw in the Champions League in Bulgaria midweek.

The Reds have been unable to hit the target enough of late, and this has been compounded by defensive problems. Expect a strong Stoke side to test that back line out. Getting 11/4 with Betway for a draw is a good-value bet.

West Ham against Newcastle has become another must-see game thanks to the excellent form of the squads headed by Sam Allardyce and Alan Pardew.

Both managers had people calling for their sacking beforehand, and both have teams in the top half of the table — Newcastle as high as fifth after five victories on the bounce. Bwin have 5/1 for a 1-1 draw, and a draw by any score is 21/10 with William Hill. Expect there to be goals in this close match.

If your betting is more long-term, you need to check out the great offer our friends at Betway Sports have come up with. They'll refund your bet of up to £10 on a team beating the Premier League leaders Chelsea, if they go the whole league season unbeaten. An unmissable bet-- find out more on BookieSmash.com.
