2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure: Things To Do
Bust out of a poker tournament early? Bring the significant other or your family? Just want a day off from the grind? Don't worry, there's much more to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) than just poker, especially with the beautiful Atlantis Paradise Island Resort right there for you to enjoy.
So what else can you do at the PCA? PokerNews has a few great options to keep you prepared for an all-around fun time.
Water Park
Aquaventure is Atlantis’ massive 141-acre water park with complimentary admission for over-night guests at Atlantis. There are high-speed water slides, a river ride that stretches a mile long with rapids and waves, 20 swimming areas, and more.
Hanging with the Fish
No, we're not talking about a one-on-one conversation with Phil Hellmuth.
There are plenty of opportunities to spend time with marine life while at Atlantis. There is Dolphin Cay, a 14-acre dolphin habitat that affords visitors the chance to get up close and personal with these wonderful animals. You can also walk with the sharks at the Mayan Temple Shark Exhibit.
If that's not enough, Atlantis has marine habitats that house more than 50,000 aquatic animals representing 250 marine species. These habitats range from the Dig, the world's largest open-air marine habitat, and the Predator Lagoon where you can walk through a 100-foot underwater tunnel and come face-to-face with barracudas, rays, sharks, and more.
Sporting Adventures
If you need to get outside and get some exercise, you can definitely do that at Atlantis. You can partake in water sports, snorkeling, scuba-diving, and even go kayaking or ride on an aqua bike.
There is also the Ocean Club golf course, which is an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course with breath-taking views throughout the entire course. You can play tennis or get your sweat on at the Atlantis Fitness Center, which includes yoga and Pilates classes, plus a 25-meter lap pool.
Next to the lap pool and fitness center are a few basketball courts. Every year, poker players, media members, and tournament staff members get games going on a regular basis. Generally held each morning before play that the weather allows for it, you can find a few pick-up games to keep active, get a good sweat in, and beat up on the competition outside of the poker table.
Charters
Want to spend some time on the water? You can do that while at Atlantis as there are a variety of charter fishing boats and luxury boats available. You can either spend the day trying to catch a fish or catch some rays while relaxing on the deck of a yacht.
Nightlife
Aura is Atlantis' 9,000-square-foot nightclub where you can dance and drink the night away. If you're looking for a laugh, you can visit the Jokers Wild Comedy Club, or if catching a flick is something you enjoy there is the Atlantis Theatre cinema which showcases the latest Hollywood releases.
Pirates of Nassau
