On Tuesday, July 29, 2014, Global Poker Index and Ivey League announced a strategic alliance that will see the two companies "jointly market and promote its players and the poker industry."

The venture will allow for many benefits to be offered to players, including live interview sessions with Ivey League pros and Ivey League promotions to over 100,000 Fantasy Poker Manager users. Together, the two sides will work to cross promote one another in the best interest of poker.

"Ivey League is a single source for all training needs," said Ivey League founder Phil Ivey in the press release. "Our goal is to provide the tools necessary to increase the skill level of every poker player and to win. We look forward to working with the Global Poker Index as they are a leader in promoting poker as a sport/skill game."

Already on the GPI website, one can see many advertisements for Ivey League, and a source close to the situation said there will be some more actions taking place during August leading into the first European Poker Tour event of the season, the 100th EPT stop to be held in Barcelona.

"We are elated to be working with the biggest name in the game of poker," said GPI CEO Alexandre Dreyfus. "We hope that this team will further highlight the game of poker and promote its players."

Dan Smith, a top young poker superstar who is an Ivey League pro, currently sits atop the GPI with 4,015.56 in points, slightly edging out Ole Schemion and his 4,014.71 in points.
