Each week, PokerNews brings you insight into the happenings at some of the major poker sites. Featuring the most popular blog posts, BlogNews Weekly is your one-stop shop for all your poker blog highlights.

In this week's BlogNews report, we bring you the highlights from PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and 888poker blogs from last week.

Jason Mercier is Fired Up for Summer Camp

Summer is almost here, which means only one thing to most professional poker players: The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has arrived. Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier is especially fired up about this year's WSOP, writing in his PokerStars blog, "Time for summer camp!"

Mercier appears to be very excited about the amount and variety of $10,000 bracelet events this summer at the Rio. He has already cashed in Event #5: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Championship for $30,794, which along with the $10,000 WSOP Razz event later in the series, were the two tournaments pinpointed where buy-ins rarely if at all exceed $3,000.

Mercier also seems pumped up about the nosebleed action, or tournaments with a buy-in above $10,000. Understandably, Mercier seems confident about his chances in the $50K Poker Players Championship after winning an 8-game SCOOP event this year.

He also hopes to also enter the Big One for One Drop again to avenge his loss the last time this event was held in 2010 in a kings vs. aces cooler against the eventual champion, Antonio Esfandiari.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom Wins over $300k at Full Tilt Poker

If you want to know who did what in the nosebleed games at Full Tilt Poker, why not go directly to the source? The Full Tilt Poker blog provides frequent updates to many of the big winners (and sometimes big losers) to this heart-pounding action.

The Full Tilt Poker blog reports poker superstar Viktor "Isildur1" Blom recorded his third consecutive profitable day in a row after winning $338,600 in pot limit Omaha and 2-7 triple draw action.

While many professional poker players are off to Las Vegas for the WSOP, Blom is out to prove that it could be more profitable to just stay at home. Blom appeared to be dominating the poker felts all day long. He started the day with a $100k win over Hac "trex313" Dang at the $200/$400 capped pot-limit Omaha tables and continued the rest of the day dominating many opponents at different stakes of 2-7 triple draw.

Joining 888poker is a "Win, Win, Win"

The 888poker blog is typically one of my favorites since you hear more about stories from the everyday poker player. This week was a bit of a slow one there, but we expect with the WSOP heating up to have some great stories from 888poker bloggers in the coming weeks.

Sometimes bloggers on 888poker use it as a platform to either commend 888poker for a job well done, or complain about an issue that was not resolved to their satisfaction.

888poker blogger Simon took time out of his day to pat 888poker on the back for a job well done in his blog "win win win." Simon recently started playing at 888poker, and other than a few minor disconnection issues is very happy about playing there and believes he found his online poker home for years to come.

This blog is written in a very amateur style with intentional misspellings making it sound like it could be coming from one of your mates. We not only hope Simon found some "win" by joining 888poker but also pads his pocket with a big "win" on the tables.

Read more at the 888poker blog about an everyday man's thoughts on joining 888poker.
