PPC Poker Tour Adds Pensacola Summer Showdown to 2014 Schedule
Last week, the PPC Poker Tour (PPC) announced its first-ever stop in Mississippi when it visits Horseshoe Tunica from August 20-24. Now, the PPC has added another stop to immediately follow. From August 24-31, the Pensacola Greyhound Track and Poker Room will play host to the 2014 Pensacola Summer Showdown.
"Our domestic tour started in Florida and poker players from the Sunshine State continue to show great support," said Sandy Swartzbaugh, Commissioner for the PPC. "Adding Pensacola Greyhound to the mix gives poker players another great event and over 10 Florida stops in 2014. Two winning players from Pensacola will be heading to the 2014 PPC Aruba World Championship in October."
The PPC Pensacola Summer Showdown will feature a $250 buy-in, $50,000 guarantee Main Event that will run from Wednesday, August 27 through Sunday, August 31. That tournament will offer four starting flights, and players can play as many of them as they like and carry their largest stack into Day 2.
That tournament will also award two $4,000 PPC Aruba World Championship packages to the top two finishers. The PPC Aruba World Championship, which runs October 15 through 21, 2014 at the Radisson Aruba Resort, is the premier stop on the PPC Poker Tour and features a $2,200 buy-in, $200,000 Guarantee Main Event.
“The PPC Poker Tour has proven to be one of the best promoters in the poker industry. We kept seeing the PPC everywhere in Florida," said Pensacola Greyhound and Poker Room's William Vineyard. "Pensacola is looking forward to the exposure the PPC Poker Tour will bring to our room and excited to join the tour.”
