MSPT Meskwaki Kicks Off Tomorrow, $300,000 Guaranteed Main Event Next Weekend
Tomorrow — Saturday, March 29, 2014 — the next stop of the Mid-States Poker Tour will kick off at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa. The series will run through Sunday, April 6, culminating in the $1,100 MSPT Main Event that begins on Saturday, April 5. This will be the first of three stops that the MSPT will make at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel.
The 2014 MSPT Meskwaki Main Event will boast a $300,000 guarantee that is sure to draw the masses. In the 2013 season, Meskwaki was host to three stops as well with top prizes of $87,694 (Terry Ring), $88,958 (Andrew Vanblair), and $81,060 (Jesse Spooner) awarded in each. The average prize pool at these three events in 2013 was over $320,000.
The series will begin with two MSPT Main Event qualifiers on Saturday. The first will be held at 12 p.m. and have a buy-in of $120. The second will be held at 7 p.m. with a buy-in of $250. In the first, the top 10% will advance to the MSPT Main Event, whereas the top 20% will advance from the second.
There is also a Meskwaki Casino Bonus Event that will be pot-limit Omaha with a $110 buy-in taking place on Sunday, March 30 starting at 5 p.m. These are all events you won't want to miss.
The last stop on the 2014 MSPT schedule saw Jason Sell win the Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells Main Event to the tune of $97,539. Sell scored his victory after defeating 2012 World Series of Poker National Championship runner-up Nik Stone in heads-up play.
