PokerStars Announces Schedule for MicroMillions VII
The world's most popular low-stakes poker tournament series will return to PokerStars next month. The seventh edition of the MicroMillions will run from March 13 through 23, featuring 100 events and $5 million in guaranteed prize pools.
MicroMillions is designed for recreational and micro-limit players with buy-ins starting as low as 11 cents. Events will run around the clock during the 11-day series, which will culminate with a $22 MicroMillions Main Event with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool on Sunday, March 23. Every day, players will have the opportunity to compete in a selection of events ranging from $0.11 to $22.
Most of the events will be no-limit hold'em, but the series will also feature games like pot-limit Omaha, Omaha hi-low, draw, and stud. Players will be able to find formats such as turbos, rebuys, shootouts, knockouts, and big ante events.
"MicroMillions is great fun because the events come thick and fast, and the stakes are small enough not to worry about hurting your bankroll," said Team PokerStars Pro Marcin "Goral" Horecki, who has twice won the MicroMillions Player of the Series title. "Even though the buy-ins are low, the rewards are massive, with the large fields making for plenty of five-figure and, in the case of the Main Event, six-figure prizes."
PokerStars will reward the top 100 players on the MicroMillions VII Leaderboard with a prize. The winner will receive free Sunday Million tickets for six months (26 $215 tickets). Second through 10th place will receive five Sunday Million tickets, and 11th through 100th place will be awarded one Sunday Million ticket.
MicroMillions began in March 2012 and set a record for the largest tournament series ever with more than 1.2 million entries across 100 events. Since then, it has grown even bigger; MicoMillions IV set the current record after attracting 1,572,760 entries, and an overall prize pool of $9,588,892.
