$270,000 Bad Beat Jackpot Hits at Horseshoe Cincinnati World Series of Poker Room 0001

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati awarded $270,000 in prize money from a bad beat jackpot — the largest bad beat jackpot of any poker room in the history of the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana Tri-State area.

The jackpot was struck at Horseshoe Cincinnati’s World Series of Poker room when Cincinnati's Gary Costa had his quad sevens beat by Michael Humphreys' jack-high straight flush. Costa took the largest payday from the jackpot, earning $108,000, while Humphreys was awarded $54,000. The remaining six players seated at the table all won $18,000.

"This was an incredibly exciting day for the local poker players," said Jason Newman, manager of Horseshoe Cincinnati’s poker room, in a press release. "Paying out the largest Bad Beat ever in the Cincinnati area, it’s a rare occasion that players buying into a game for $100/$200 get to walk away $100,000 richer."
