World Poker Tour to Return to Canada in 2014 for WPT Fallsview Poker Classic

On Tuesday, the World Poker Tour expanded the Season XII schedule once gain, announcing the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic in Feb. 2014.

After two successful in Montreal, the WPT is excited to return to Canada for a CAD $5,000 main event at the Fallsview Casino Resort, an hour outside of Toronto. This single-entry, three-day tournament will run from Feb. 22-24, at the end of the week-long, three-event Fallsview Poker Classic tournament series.

"Poker is more popular than ever in Canada, and our players have been asking us to add another WPT stop north of the border," WPT President Adam Pliska said in a statement. "We’re thrilled to accommodate them by adding this great new event to the tour, and we look forward to another fantastic event on Canadian soil.”

Players can buy directly into each event or qualify through satellites starting as early as Dec. 9, and super satellites starting in Feb. There will also be online satellites available exclusively at partypoker.net.

“The return of the WPT is exciting news for all talented and notable poker enthusiasts,” said Greg Medulun, Director of Communications with Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara. “Our casino is well-suited to host what will be a definite sold-out event given the added excitement WPT brings.”

Fallsview Casino is a full-service casino resort with more than 3,000 slot machines and 100 table games. Outside of the poker room, visitors can enjoy the Resort’s award-wining fine-dining restaurants, or take in one of the most famous and spectacular views in the world at Niagara Falls.
